Entry #7, Jenn Ogren, So., Raymore, Mo.

Our spring season has come to a close. I can’t believe I have been in college for two years now; time has flown by so fast. I can remember my first pre-season sitting in that classroom in the Dome wondering what I had just gotten myself into. All the upper classman looked so much taller and bigger than us eleven freshman sitting next to them. Now two years later, we are those upper classman that the freshmen have to be scared of. ?

We are all looking forward to the 2009 season; playing Division I for the second year. We are playing top schools like SDSU, University of Minnesota, University of North Dakota, Nebraska, Eastern Washington, Utah Valley, Houston Baptist, and UMKC. I am excited to play UMKC because I will be playing close to my home town!! Overall, I think next year will be another great experience for our team. Last year we surprised a lot of people in some of our games. This upcoming fall will be another great test to see how we can compare to some of those power houses in Division I soccer. This past weekend, we played against our long time rival, SDSU, and tied them 0-0. Now that we are in Division I, we can officially renew the rivalry we use to have with them. We are playing SDSU also in our pre-season game in August 2009.

We have concluded our 2008-2009 season with end of the year meetings and closing remarks. I am excited for the summer to be here so I can be at home lying in the sun next to my pool all day…and of course doing our summer workouts. This has been an exciting year with going Division I and exploring new heights, but I can’t wait to jump into next year and get started with a new and exciting season!!!
