Entry #3, Liz Sundland (Fr., Spring, Texas)
Ever since Spring Break, the weeks have gone by so fast. My entire freshmen year has gone by very quickly and it is hard to believe we have about a month left. Our training schedule has been tough, but very fitting to reach the goals our team has made. We have two spring games, and with the training and conditioning the team has been through, we should do quite well. I am actually injured right now with a knee injury. I will be seeing the doctor that works with USD athletes and will be getting an MRI on Tuesday. I have been going in for treatment twice a day and hope to be back soon!
We also experienced somewhat of a blizzard last night! (Friday, April 3rd).
Being from Houston, Texas, I am proud to say that I survived my first blizzard. Immediately when I heard that we were supposed to get up to 14 inches with zero visibility, I called my dad so I could make a trip to Wal-Mart to get water and other necessities, just in case! We did not get nearly as much snow as expected, but I was ready for it.
Today we have Building Blocks which is a camp the team does every Sunday from
3-5 p.m. since after spring-break. The kids that come are all so much fun and we have a good time. They are always so ecstatic which makes the 2 hours go by fast! There is one game in particular that the kids really like to play, which is "Kill the Coach". This is where the coaches are frantically trying not to let the little kids hit them with the kicking of ball, but if they do the coach is out. I think we play that game about 6 times in a row before the kids are ready to move on to the next game. After building blocks tonight, I plan on studying for a big test I have on Wednesday in Earth Science.
Next weekend is Easter, so we only have a four-day week this week. I am going to head to Minnesota with my boyfriend, Shane, and spend the weekend with his family. I hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable Easter!
